China has developed widely autonomously (without a driver) delivery trucks to hundreds of cities, with fleets of more than 10.000 of units operating daily for parcel delivery, food and other goods. Clips circulating on Chinese social media show these vehicles behaving very clumsily: they drive through fresh concrete, despite the obstacles and workers trying to stop them, bounce over potholes or move over rough terrain. Sometimes a motorcycle gets stuck under the chassis without the vehicle stopping. The vehicles are designed to follow mapped routes and are equipped with sensors (cameras, LiDAR), but sometimes they find it difficult to adapt to unpredictable real situations (road works, uneven terrain, moving obstacles).
