After a storm in town Selm Germany, a tree fell on railway rails. A train with about eighty passengers hit the tree, and the front wheels of the train derailed. Employees of the Emergency Management Agency of the railroad arrived a few hours later to restore the derailed train. Here we see the restoration process of the rails.

Rail welding Although in the past the rails had to have a gap between them to cope with temperature expansion/contraction, this technique is no longer applied to high-speed trains.
