The Gatebox is a new kind of virtual assistant that developed in Japan. As the Amazon or Google Home, the Gatebox is there to serve users and interact with them.

But the Gatebox passes to another level, Since it takes the form of your favorite manga character and becomes a kind of virtual girlfriend (Waifu). Currently, only one character is available. Her name is Hikari Azuma, loves cartoons, the donut and hates insects.

The virtual girlfriend appears in a cylinder as a hologram (projected onto a transparent screen). The device has a camera and a microphone and is simple to use, because it has only one button. You can talk or send SMS, as shown in the video. The Gatebox is available for pre-order in the US and Japan at a price of € 2,400 (298 000¥)
