A child feeds baby birds August 10, 2018 / Nam Kham, Shan State, Myanmar These birds landed next to my house. Most of them cannot fly anymore due to exhaust. An autistic child neutralized and handcuffed by a security guard at his school This is the first 3 minutes of an unedited bodycam video that shows my 10yr old autistic son being mistreated at the hands of his SPED teacher and an SRO officer that works for Denton PD, Texas. The police report indicates that my son was a serious threat to others citing that he poked a kid with an eraser and was swinging a computer mouse around other children; however this is NOT shown on the video. Do you ever hear this officer try to talk to him or his teacher? He was not posing a serious imminent threat to himself or others at this time; therefore I believe this is excessive.
Scythe lawn mow New build house, new garden, newly laid turf but no new lawn mower and grass is growing away. No problem: a few minutes with a scythe and its back in control, ready for a hand powered push lawn mower. (Dad with a scythe is of some practical use after all!)
(Took about 10-15 minutes, compressed for all like me with a short attention span).
Seeing the Invisible I first saw a Schlieren imaging setup around ten years ago in Melbourne. I was immediately fascinated by the way I could see the warm air coming off my hand. I hadn't expected the currents to be moving that fast or to be so visible. This was a tricky setup to get right because alignment is very important and here I'm just working with what I had lying around the house mostly (plus the mirror). For the best Schlieren photography, making sure the mirror is stable is essential. I want to improve my setup so the mirror doesn't wobble back and forth too much creating the pulsing light and dark sections of this video.

The freezing bubble When it gets really cold outside, all you can do is have some fun with it. At -25C/-13F, soap bubble mixtures freeze faster than they pop, making for some very fascinating effects! When it gets this cold, I can often be found outside my house, bubble blower in one hand and camera in the other (I think my neighbours have gotten used to this sort of behaviour by now)
Instead Of Ignoring A Homeless Woman, A Kind Man Builds Her Shelter The Welcome Home: A Tiny House, Huge Purpose campaign and initial idea all began with a simple friendship. Elvis Summers lives in Los Angeles and had gotten to know a woman named Smokie. Irene "Smokie" McGhee has been on the streets for 10 years. She is not an addict. She was married to a wonderful man and when he passed away, she eventually lost her house and had nowhere to go. Smokie has a son, but he has six children of his own and, although he helps his mother as much as he can, she refuses to live with him because he has enough to worry about, she believes. Summers, who found out the 60-year-old grandmother was sleeping in a patch of dirt at night, decided he was going to do something more. He took $500 of his own money and set out to Home Depot to get the materials needed to build McGhee a place to call her own. The home was built on wheels so that it could be easily moved. The local police have been very supportive, but ask that the home be relocated every 72 hours, according to ordinance.
