Bike theft attempt I have my bike sitting in the front yard with TheBlankTrigger attached to test how effective it is on a bike. Apparently, this thief didn't want to steal a bike with flat tires (too much work). Thankfully, I have motion sensors in my front yard (who doesn't?) and I assumed it was birds eating my new grass seed (yes I know the yard looks like crap, work in progress). I'm glad I checked my cameras just in time to catch him in my yard, and with how fast he ran, he didn't need the bike anyway.
Mission 9: Safe Escape In Any Phase Of Flight New Shepard flew for the ninth time on July 18, 2018. During this mission, known as Mission 9 (M9), the escape motor was fired shortly after booster separation. The Crew Capsule was pushed hard by the escape test and we stressed the rocket to test that astronauts can get away from an anomaly at any time during flight. The mission was a success for both the booster and capsule. Most importantly, astronauts would have had an exhilarating ride and safe landing. This isn’t the first time we’ve done this type of extreme testing on New Shepard. In October of 2012, we simulated a booster failure on the launch pad and had a successful escape. Then in October of 2016, we simulated a booster failure in-flight at Max Q, which is the most physically strenuous point in the flight for the rocket, and had a completely successful escape of the capsule. This test on M9 allowed us to finally characterize escape motor performance in the near-vacuum of space and guarantee that we can safely return our astronauts in any phase of flight. Also on M9, New Shepard carried science and research payloads from commercial companies, universities and space agencies. Learn more about the payloads on board here:

Moose Confronts Cyclist Occurred on May 21, 2018 / Anchorage, Alaska, USA I was driving home from having lunch with my wife in anchorage and I saw the Mama moose with her two babies sitting under the flag pole by JBER. I thought that would make a great photo so I continued to drive home, got on my bicycle and rode the seven miles to where the moose was. As I was approaching the moose a tv station was there warning people about the moose attacking cyclist and other people. So they interviewed me, than were finishing up there story and went back to there car. I proceeded with caution and crested the hill with the Mama moose about thirty feet away. Just then I noticed a cyclist coming from the opposite direction riding towards me. so I started filming. When she attacked the cyclist and the cyclist fell down I was concerned until I saw him move. Then I got the attention of the tv news people and yelled at them that the moose was attacking another cyclist. so they got in there car and sped up to go in between them. Then the moose attacked the car as the car was shielding the cyclist from the moose. They eventually got far enough away where the cyclist got back on his bike and went back the way he came from.
Race chase between the Geneva Police and a Clio 28.03.2018 A man on a bike was the collateral victim of a chase this Wednesday early in the afternoon in the city. But he was taken to the emergency department of the cantonal hospital. "At 1:30 pm, a patrol that was circulating at Bergues' wharf spotted a suspicious vehicle and triggered his siren. The car, with French plates, then fled. After crossing the Mont-Blanc bridge and taking the road to Chêne, the crazy car hit the man on a bicycle. Shortly after, the motorist, a Frenchman born in 1985, lost control of his craft at the crossroads with the Avenue de l'Amandolier. He is unscathed and has been arrested. The reasons that led him to flee the police are not yet known. The lurch of the suspect car caused a partial closure of the Oak Road in the early afternoon and disrupted traffic.
