Jack Black (born Thomas Jacob Black on August 28, 1969 in Santa Monica, California) is an American actor, comedian, and musician. He is known as an energetic and charismatic actor in both family and comedy films. He played the lead role in the film School of Rock (2003), for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe. In 2025, he rose to prominence with animation and comedies such as The Minecraft Movie and Anaconda, and continues to be a cult figure in modern popular culture.
