It’s not you. Commuting is bad for your health. My commute is like a second job, and it might be killing me. Millions of Americans commute to work. It can be a stressful journey that involves cars, trains, bicycles, and even airplanes. This video breaks down the pros and cons of long commutes -- it's by someone who actually has a painfully long one: Vox's Kimberly Mas commutes to Manhattan almost every day. She drives her car to the train station, takes the train to the subway, and finally rides the subway to the Vox office. She's had this routine for a long time and she always wondered what kind of toll it's taking on her. Her reporting shows that, while commutes may just be an unavoidable part of life for many Americans, they don't have to be all bad, all the time.
A train on twisted rails PREX 1603 leading PREX 3054 blasts down the former Wabash Railroad's 5th District! Lol actually I condensed 6 minutes of the train crawling down the track! This is only the third time I've gotten a pair on one of their trains so I was pleased to see them. The line was most recently the Maumee and Western Railroad (MAW) before being purchased by Pioneer RailCorp. Maintenance was deferred for decades on this stretch of track. Pioneer has done a great job rehabbing the worst parts but some pockets like this still exist.
A child sees a train pass with his father at the helm Norfolk Southern Engineer Nuttle's son watches Dad drive train on route to Binghamton NY via Southern Tier Line. Young man has seen several trips, but first time he understands it's daddy driving. He's shaking with delight! Complete with comments from older siblings.
A good road safety video Good little prevention video which reminds us that driving very fast in a car, to the point of speeding, hardly saves any time.
