Newborn Aardvark Born At Zoo THESE adorable images show the first healthy baby aardvark to be born at Cincinnati zoo in more than 20 years. The little cub - named Winsol because he was born on the winter solstice - is now being cared for by staff at the zoo. Mum Ali, 13, gave birth to her baby boy weighing just three pounds at the end of last year. The animal care team are now closely supervising the pair during the day to ensure that Ali doesn’t accidentally roll over or step on the infant.- Baby Elephant Rescued from Mud Hole Occurred on November 23, 2017 / Urulanthanni, Kerala, India "This place is near the forest and elephants visit all the time. Animal care staff also scattered yams, carrots, melons and beef femur bones throughout the exhibit as added enrichment, and watched as the bears pounced and dug for their prizes. This surprise snowy enrichment was made possible by donors who contributed to the animal care wish list on the San Diego Zoo website, sandiegozoo.org. Enrichment is very important for the bears, as it stimulates them, keeps them active and promotes natural behaviors. “This was a special day for the polar bears, and I could tell they really loved it,” said Susan Purtell, senior keeper, San Diego Zoo. “It was great seeing them roll around in the snow, showcasing their natural behaviors.”

Our guest told us of a baby sloth that they saw about a half mile down the beach on the rocks still alive. We ran down to find it before it died and scared off a couple of dogs who were about to run up on it. We found the rare, young, 2-toe sloth that survived the high tide and a storm overnight. It was wet with salt water and had sand in its eyes. It appeared tired and scared and began to cry out to us as we approached. With no adult sloths in site we carefully placed him in a box with a towel then took him back to the lodge and rinsed the salt water off its face. We then took the baby sloth to the animal rescue center at Tranquility just down the road. He seemed to be fine and happy to be dried off and safe.

My husband then slowed down and saw a grey wolf beside the road. He alerted us, and because I am always fascinated with nature and wild animals we meet along our trips, I got my phone and started recording. I was sitting at the very back of the van when I saw him running beside the road and when I turned to look at the back that is when I noticed him chasing after the car. He was running so fast and he had his eyes only on us because there were other cars on the opposite direction. He chased us for a good couple of kilometers and an amazing experience. If only we had the time we would've tried to see how far he will follow us but we were on a time crunch as well. I was keen on reporting or calling parks Canada cause we were afraid that the wolf might get hit my another moving vehicle but there were no service in the area.

The police arrived at the scene of a car accident to find a horse and foal stuck in mud nearby. The owner of the animals later explained that the foal was born shortly before the accident and the team was headed back to their stall when both horses broke loose. A police officer and the horses’ owner joined efforts to pull the foal out of mud. The mother horse restlessly watched her baby emerging from the sludge. The horses were later reunited with their herd, both reported to be in satisfactory condition.
