On July 10, 2026 at Bridge Bay Campground in Yellowstone National Park (USA), a tourist was seriously injured after being violently attacked by a bison. The scene, shot by photographer Mike MacLeod, shows the animal particularly agitated, chasing several visitors before attacking a man walking with his grandson. The bison hit him and then threw him about 2,5 meters in the air before he lands violently on the ground.

According to the witness, the animal seemed extremely nervous and attacked 'anything that moved'. Other visitors intervened by shouting to distract him and allow the victim to be rescued. The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries. It is worth noting that the witnesses believe that the man respected the recommended safe distances and had not provoked the animal. The incident happened during the mating season, a time when male bison are particularly aggressive.
