In a park at the University of Rostock in Germany, a pigeon was being attacked by a seagull that was trying to pin it to the ground. Just when the tide seemed to be tipping in favor of the predator, a crow intervened quite unexpectedly.

The crow pounced on the seagull several times to get it to release the dove. Taking advantage of the situation, the pigeon finally managed to escape, while the crow continued to keep the seagull away. It's hard to know if the crow was actually trying to save the pigeon or just drive a predator away from its territory, but his intervention certainly saved the pigeon.
