On a street in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, a man on a scooter started bullying a group of athletes training for triathlons and Ironmans.
The scene, which was filmed by a cyclist's phone, shows the scooter driver getting dangerously close to the group and repeatedly trying to cut off a young woman. But the situation eventually backfired. While trying to kick a cyclist's handlebars, the man lost control of his scooter before crashing into a pole on the side of the road. The scooter was subsequently seized by authorities as part of the investigation.
The incident quickly went viral on social media in Puerto Rico. The driver could face several charges, such as dangerous driving, attack, disorderly conduct and infringements relating to the rights of cyclists. The scooter rider's lawyer, from his side, claims his client felt threatened by the group of cyclists and denies any deliberate attempt to crash.
