On May 11, 2026 in Turkey, a taxi driver experienced a scene straight out of an action movie in the city of Gaziantep. A man armed with a carbine took the driver hostage after getting into his vehicle with a woman. A long police chase through the city ensued.

During the escape, the suspect allegedly shot the officers several times from inside the taxi. Dashcam footage shows the driver, threatened at close range, trying to remain calm as authorities gradually surrounded the vehicle.

After several kilometers of pursuit, the taxi driver finally decided to intervene. Taking advantage of a moment of carelessness, rushed at the gunman, trying to wrest the carbine from him. A violent struggle broke out inside the taxi before officers were able to detain the suspect. The driver was injured in the hand during the operation.

The Guide, named Ramazan Yildirim, he was praised for his courage after this impressive act of composure. According to Turkish media, the suspect had just shot his own brother before fleeing the scene.
