Shy Shelter Dog FLIPS OUT After Realizing He’s Been Adopted
(1) | 21/01/2016 | Translate: Much has been written about the impact adoption can have on the life of an unloved shelter pet — but words pale in comparison to seeing that unbridled joy first hand.
Up until recently, a sweet but shy dog named Benny had no idea what the future had in store for him, or how close he came to seeing his cut short. As a resident of the Carson Animal Care Center, a high-kill shelter in Gardena, California, all he could do was sit and wait for someone to come along and save him, which he did week after week with no success. But then that all changed.
Earlier this month, Benny was finally adopted by a loving family. His reaction upon realizing that happy fact? Priceless.

Needless to say that everybody involved, is happy to report that Rick made it back to safety with only minor injuries. This is the latest, but far from the only, rescue mission in which a drone played a crucial role in saving someone's life. What sets this story apart though, are the extreme conditions (altitude and temperature) in which the DJI Mavic Pro was able to fly. The poorly pup was spotted roaming around the cold, snow-clad streets of Bucharest, Romania by a Ovidiu Rosu on January 11, who noticed that plastic had been wrapped around the dog’s neck Thankfully, after wading through a metre and a half of snow for six hours, the wild veterinary specialist was on hand to provide the damaged dog with a lifeline. After safely tranquilizing the neglected pooch, Ovidiu manages to slide a pair of scissors under the plastic before cutting it off revealing the severe damage underneath.

I was shattered before I started and after 10 hours working on a project I ditched it as I just wasn't happy with it! I then had to think fast what to make, it was 6-15pm, this dog puzzle was on my long list of ideas. I went with it as I thought I could just about get it done. Long and short of it, the project and the editing was thrown together! The edit took about two and half hours, finishing at 1-30am, record time!

- Saving a Dog from a Semi Frozen Lake Occurred on January 5, 2018 / Midlothian, Virginia, USA Neighborhood kids knocked on my door and asked for help because a dog had fallen into our semi-frozen neighborhood pond. After attempting to reach the dog with a 30 ft ladder, Anthony Miller and I got the kayak from my garage and returned to the pond. Anthony got in the kayak and scooted along the ice until he reached the dog, Atlas, who was in distress and near complete exhaustion from trying to get out. Anthony used a noose from Animal Control to get the dog and drag him to the edge. He was placed in an emergency vehicle and given oxygen and warm blankets. After seizing several times, they tried to transport him to a nearby animal hospital. He stopped breathing twice and was given chest compressions by paramedics. When he arrived his temperature was so low it wouldn't even register on the thermometer. Under great care, Atlas made a full recovery and was reunited with his owner who had been desperately looking for him
- Baby Sloth Rescue in Costa Rica Occurred on January 15, 2018 / Morgans Jungle Lodge, Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica We own an eco lodge in a remote section of Costa Rica. Our guest told us of a baby sloth that they saw about a half mile down the beach on the rocks still alive. We ran down to find it before it died and scared off a couple of dogs who were about to run up on it. We found the rare, young, 2-toe sloth that survived the high tide and a storm overnight. It was wet with salt water and had sand in its eyes. It appeared tired and scared and began to cry out to us as we approached. With no adult sloths in site we carefully placed him in a box with a towel then took him back to the lodge and rinsed the salt water off its face. We then took the baby sloth to the animal rescue center at Tranquility just down the road. He seemed to be fine and happy to be dried off and safe.
