This is one of the largest CFD simulations ever, on the world’s largest GPU server, the GigaIO SuperNODE, equipped with 32x AMD Instinct MI210 64GB GPUs, for a total of 2TB of VRAM.

The simulation shows the Concorde (62m long) before landing at a speed of 300km/h and an angle of attack of 10°, for 1 second in flight. The span-based Reynolds number is 146 million.

Pilot was fighting to keep control of the aircraft and not too sure if he came in to quick and too high thus having to force the aircraft down into the tarmac, or if he was too slow, lost lift and resulted in the aircraft "falling" out of the sky. Difficult to say without knowing speed or height. Once on tarmac, the pilot fought to regain control of the aircraft, and we were thrown from left to right trying to straighten up. I have flown for many years, and this has had to be the first landing where I have thought the main gear was going to collapse. Frightening experience.
