To celebrate its opening, the Abel Motos dealership, located in Pedro II in the Brazilian state of Piauí, organized a rather unusual contest. The challenge: to stay suspended from a motorcycle several meters above the ground for ten minutes in order to win the bike.

The principle is simple but particularly grueling. Participants must hold onto the motorcycle without touching the ground. Whoever manages to last the full ten minutes wins a brand-new motorcycle. For the bravest who narrowly miss out, a consolation prize of 3,000 Brazilian reais (approximately 470 euros) is offered for those who exceed eight minutes of suspension.

The event attracted many curious onlookers, and videos of the contest quickly went viral on social media. Several participants tried their luck, but staying suspended for that long proves much more difficult than it looks. Grip strength diminishes rapidly, and the muscles in the arms, shoulders, and back are put to the test.
