A horse was clearly suffering from gas colic (a buildup of gas in the intestines due to excessive fermentation). Lying on the ground, the animal seemed to be struggling to release the pressure. A woman then came to help, gently pressing on its belly to help the gas escape.
The effect was almost immediate. A few seconds later, the horse let out a huge, long fart that seemed to have instantly relieved it.
In horses, this type of digestive problem can be serious. Gas colic is caused by a buildup of gas in the intestines and can lead to severe abdominal pain. Since horses cannot vomit, the pressure can quickly become dangerous if it is not released. Fortunately, in this case, it all ended with a loud noise… and a visibly much more relaxed horse.
