During a stay at the Castle of St Julien near Poitiers at Easter (end of March 2017), a woman wanted to make a grimace by pulling a tongue to a drone that filmed it. But deconcentrated by the flying object, she retreated, forgetting the basin of the fountain behind her. The poor fell dressed in the cold water of the basin. A young man immediately flew to his rescue.

Rescue a dog in a frozen lake Harlem-Roscoe firefighters were dispatched to a call on the Legends Lake in Roscoe for a man on the ice trying to rescue his dog that had fallen through thin ice into the lake on Dec. 11, 2017. It seems the dog's owner found his dog in the water and tried using a kayak on the ice to get to him. About half way out he broke through the ice himself and was now in the water. First in units arrived on scene and Lt. Justin Mayton donned a cold water suit and firefighters secured him to a safety rope. He then headed out onto the ice with a second Kayak that was on scene. He reached the owner of the dog and the dog's owner was able to climb into the kayak. Mayton was then able to reach the dog and he and the dog were pulled back to the shore by the firefighters on the shore. A rope was also then thrown to the owner in the Kayak and he was pulled safely to the shore. The dog and the owner were warmed up in the ambulance and taken home. Climber who was presumed dead in the Himalayas found with a Drone. Last Monday we reported on how mountaineer Rick Allen was successfully rescued, after being presumed dead, from Broad Peak (26,400 ft) in Pakistan. with help of a DJI Mavic Pro drone. Needless to say that everybody involved, is happy to report that Rick made it back to safety with only minor injuries. This is the latest, but far from the only, rescue mission in which a drone played a crucial role in saving someone's life. What sets this story apart though, are the extreme conditions (altitude and temperature) in which the DJI Mavic Pro was able to fly. From K2's basecamp, Bartek Bargiel who piloted the drone was able to answer some questions in a short interview with DroneDJ.

Rescuing a Bumble Bee Occurred on March 22, 2018 / Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire, England I was riding a horse for my Friend Sandie. When we had finished we noticed her chap Leaf that helps her with the garden holding a bumble bee. Sandie went and got some warm sugary water and fed it. Leaf then went to put the bee under some shelter. It was a cold wet blustery day although the sun had been out. The bees were coming out but they had no energy. Or warmth from the sun . So it was lovely to be able to help one .
Kilauea lava flows in Hawaii A pink rainbow, amazing land spouts and a veritable plethora of lava flows made for a spectacular lava overflight this morning. We have often seen water spouts at the ocean entry... but this morning, due to a head downpour on the 61G flow and the right wind and heat conditions, several vortices (aka: land spouts) appeared just above the Pali. These dramatic, unusual formations look like mini tornadoes, but spin much less quickly. Easter Ducky flew solo while Leilani prepared for Merrie Monarchs... he joined Special Return Guest, Bryan Pezman, Bruce Omori and me as Paradise Helicopters' superb fly boy, Sean Regehr navigated the sky above Pele's manifestations... mahalo plenny, Sean!
A man and a woman come out of the same toilet of a Virgin Atlantic plane David Eve, a passenger on a flight from London Heathrow to Miami shared this funny movie on social media. A female passenger is leaving the toilet, seconds later a male passenger leaves the toilet ... with a smile from ear to ear ;-) The movie went viral and has already been viewed 6 million times! Even Virgin Atlantic shared the movie on Facebook, clearly confirming that it was a Virgin Atlantic aircraft, and that the mood lighting put a smile on their faces #smilehighclub

Wimpy Robbers Fail To Break Glass During Pathetic Burglary Attempt Well, that was embarrassing. A pair of wannabe burglars in Florida tried to break into a gas station, but the dumb duo was unable to even get inside the door thanks to a pane of impact-resistant glass. Surveillance footage obtained from a Port St. Lucie gas station and released by police shows the two men confidently strolling up to the front of the store before using a metal implement to smash open a large window adjacent to the doors. The first few swings shatter the glass and appear to make a small hole, but after several more wild swings – and a few shoulder checks – the robber realizes that there’s no getting inside. His accomplice appears to signal that it’s time to leave, but the frustrated man continues hammering the sturdy glass. After trying for nearly a minute, the pair finally decides to leave, but not before one of the robbers throws a few flying kicks at the stubborn window hoping for a last-second miracle. It doesn’t come. Police have yet to identify the culprits, whose humiliating robbery attempt cost the gas station owner roughly $6,000 in damages. Glass that strong doesn’t come cheap, it appears.
Robbery Fail At Motel Sanford, ME - Sanford Police are asking for the public's help identifying a man who attempted to rob a motel. Police say just before 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, a man entered the Super 8 Motel on Main Street, displayed a knife, and demanded money from the female desk clerk. The woman refused to cooperate with him. Police say she ducked into a back room and called 911. The suspect was caught on a surveillance camera. He was wearing a horizontal stripe, dark blue and gray hoodie. The suspect held the hoodie closed around his face during the robbery attempt and displayed a silver bladed knife.

Urinating on a burning motorcycle Saturday January 20, 2024 in Santo Estêvão, Brazil, two men tried to extinguish a burning motorcycle with their own urine. The two men were riding a motorcycle on an avenue when the machine caught fire. They stopped and the passenger unbuttoned his fly, took out his lance and started spraying the bike with his urine, thinking he could put out the fire. The other man joined him to help, but to no avail, the motorcycle continued to burn.
